Japan’s crude steel output falls in February

According to data released by the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF), Japan's crude steel output totaled 8.317 million tons in February, falling by 6.2% from a month ago and decreasing by 3.4% year on year.

The daily crude steel production averaged at 297,000 tons, up by 3.9% from a month ago.

Meanwhile, the country's pig iron production in February totaled 6.357 million tons, decreasing by 9.5% from a month ago and down by 0.5% year on year.
